Youth Services
At the Peterborough Town Library we introduce children to stories, to each other, and to the world!
Our programs cultivate curiosity, build imaginations, and bolster early literacy skills.
The Elizabeth Room has books for babies through 8th grade. Books are organized roughly by reading level and format. Reading levels vary greatly among all age groups. Parents are encouraged to browse and choose books together to find the best fit for your reader.
Storytimes and More!
We invite all families to join us in sharing our love of imagination and reading at one of our many library programs!
All are welcome, contact us to learn more about how we can make sure a program works for your family.

Core Program Descriptions:
Please visit the Events Page of our website to see our current Program offerings.
Baby Storytime
Babies and their caregivers gather to sing songs, chant nursery rhymes, read board books and enjoy lap bounces. Perfect for babies from birth until they are too busy to want to stay in our storytime circle - siblings are always welcome too!
Toddler Time
This program takes elements from Baby Storytime and starts to introduce things from our Preschool Storytime. Sometimes we use bells, scarves, or shakers to enhance our songs too. We leave time to play and visit as a group at the end. Perfect for ages 1.5-3 with a caregiver - siblings are always welcome.
Preschool Storytime
Gather with Aimee for stories, movement, songs, and a craft! Perfect for kids who like to sit and listen to longer stories, geared towards ages 3-6 with a caregiver - siblings are always welcome too!
Rabbit Storytime
On the first Thursday of the month we'll host a special evening storytime! This fall join Claudia and her Rex Rabbit, Snoopy, for a story, craft, and time to visit with Snoopy. Stories and crafts are geared towards preschool through early elementary school-aged children.
Saturday Storytime
On the last Saturday of the month, join Aimee for an all ages storytime! We'll read stories, sing songs and more! Stories will be on the shorter side with streches and songs in-between to help keep younger listeners engaged throughout.
Afternoon LEGO
Every 2nd and 4th Thursday afternoon kids can drop-in and build with LEGO! We have tons of LEGO to free-build with and some sets too. Drop-in anytime and stay for as long as you like! This program is geared towards elementary school-aged kids.

Pizza & Pages
Pizza & Pages is our book group for 5th graders and up. At every meeting we discuss the book we chose ahead of time, choose a new book, and hand out the book we are reading at the next meeting. We usually act silly, talk books, and we always eat pizza!
